Creepy Irish Potatoes!

I had a TONNE of books when I was growing up as Mum worked for a publishing company and my Dad was a writer so they were big on literature.

All this talk on Bookie Wook of creepy potatoes reminded me of something in the deep recesses of my mind...it wasn't an altogether pleasant memories and all I could see were potatoes dancing with matchsticks for legs down a staircase, with piddly little eyes.....ugh, shivers just thinking about it!

So, I slept on it and it came to me in a dream! "Silver Pennies"! This is a gorgeous book of poems put together by a lady in 1925 and is all about faeries and elves and...creepy Irish potatoes!!

Yes, that is MOULD on my book...I own a book so old it is mouldy...it used to show shiny, silver pennies but I abused the care of this book :(

Anyway, I was religious about having my parent's read to me until I was really old, like ten or something, and I'd often get them to read me a poem from this book but we ALWAYS, ALWAYS skipped this one....I just couldn't with those creepy, creepy potatoes but the ending was also super sad and CALLOUS...man, read for yourself....
